I remember that! Not fun times…

Zoe is back to normal now, so I think she had a nervous stomach. We’ll have to limit our trips to 6 days instead of 7 from now on, because that’s all she can handle, apparently. Her blood levels were normal, and so were the x-rays. And so far, Otis hasn’t vomited today (knock wood).

holy shit, this is terrible! what is it about dogs getting sick while we’re gone? you might recall that boscoe developed diabetes while we were in ireland, and when we got to dublin after a week out of email contact the vet tech had sent a message asking if it was normal for him to be peeing all over the house.

so did they figure out what exctly what was wrong with Zoe?

funny about the dog with aggression issues. i guess those issues aren’t constant, but dog-dependent? that’s how it is for riley, anyway.

Laurie – Strangely enough, Otis hasn’t been too freaked out by the thunderstorms lately, which has been nice. We have Benadryl on hand for Zoe’s allergies but it can serve another purpose if needed…

yeah, riley too.

when it gets really bad (big storm) a couple of benadryl calm him right down. but knowing that the fireworks only last a few minutes helps….

I have trouble with car backfires and popping balloons, too. For some reason shotguns don’t bother me. Maybe its the retrieving.

It makes my throat sore just reading that.

We boarded them overnight at the vet recently, and things went well.

I think we’re going to continue using that option (mostly because if, god forbid, something were to happen, they would be able to notice and take care of it immediately). And they could be next to a barky dog at any facility. The trick is to board them in the same kennel so they can comfort each other.
