We had a minor scare earlier last week, when we felt Abby’s lymph nodes under her neck and we thought they were swollen. It turns out they’re OK, but we brought her to the vet a week early for her maintenance IV. Her blood test results are good, and her lymphocyte count is still quite low (around 2,000). Her lymph nodes were more of a normal size instead of smaller than normal, which was the cause for alarm.She has lots of energy and has been begging for walks. We’ve been indulging her while the daylight and the weather cooperate. We can only go about 6 blocks, and she gets pretty tired at the end, but she wants to lead most of the way.
She’s around 67 pounds now, so we can start cutting back on the food and treats, much to her chagrin. She was enjoying the “every time I beg, I get a treat” mentality in our house. Time to eliminate Fourth Meal.
